How Much Does a Custom Stainless Steel Worktop Cost?
This is the question we hear most often. We do not list ready-made prices here, because a made-to-measure worktop has no single price. What we can do is explain what shapes it, so it is easier to plan a budget and choose the right version.
Why there is no price list
Every worktop is made to the client’s design, with its own dimensions, shape, cut-outs and edge finish. The weight of individual worktops can differ by tens of kilograms. That is why every order is quoted individually.
Solid steel thickness: the biggest factor
QLdecor worktops are made of solid grade 304 stainless steel in four thicknesses: 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm. The thicker the steel, the more material, weight and rigidity, and therefore the higher the price. For orientation: 1 m² of worktop weighs about 40 kg at 5 mm and about 79 kg at 10 mm. We choose the thickness to suit the project: the span of the worktop, the load and the look of the edge you want.
Grade 316 stainless steel is available on request and also affects the quote.
Surface pattern
Price also depends on the pattern you choose. Most patterns sit at the same price level, with one exception: Martian Rock. It is our most beautiful pattern, and it is made with a very demanding technology, so it costs roughly 50% more than the other patterns.
If budget matters and you still want a pronounced texture, compare Martian Rock with Ice Crack or Time Mark. Light changes the look of each of them, so it is worth seeing a sample in your own space.
Dimensions, cut-outs and workmanship
The final figure is also shaped by the size of the worktop, the number and complexity of cut-outs (hob, tap), its shape, the edge finish and whether the sink is integrated into the worktop. A plain worktop without cut-outs and a worktop with a formed sink are two very different amounts of work.
The economical version: steel on an aluminium core
For clients looking for a more economical solution, we also offer a worktop made of steel sheet on an aluminium honeycomb core. The surface is steel, while the internal structure is lighter than solid steel. We go through the details and available patterns when preparing the quote.
How to prepare for a quote
It helps to have ready: a drawing or the worktop dimensions, the number and position of cut-outs, your chosen pattern, your preferred thickness (or a note that you would like our advice), and whether you want a sink integrated into the worktop. Worktop lead time is 1.5–3 months.
